We were happy with the way the bikes travelled.
Geoff took the seats off – less drag and less
to steal.
We stopped at Olivers
Wholefoods at the Dog on the Tuckerbox.
They had a photo of a bullock dray towing a mining tank.
There were 22 pairs of bullocks on the
team.
We had been talking with friends about streets in country
towns being wide enough to turn a bullock dray – not this one.
The trip to Myrtleford took just under 7 ½ hours with two
stops. We left Sydney in heavy rain and
then drove down through the valley to Myrtleford with drizzle and thick
bushfire smoke. We hoped the smoke wouldn’t make the bike riding
difficult. The roses in the gardens are
amazing. We have a studio apartment in
the middle of town above shops. The
supermarket is just up there for things we have forgotten. We went there twice. In the evening the sun was glowing red in the
sky due to the smoke. We couldn’t get
the camera or mobile phone camera to register the red.
