Monday cycling

The smell of smoke was quite strong in the parking courtyard.

We loaded the car anyway and drove to Porepunkah parking a kilometre out.The smoke smell had gone by then. Riding on the Rail Trail was good in spite of a little drizzle.
too soon for coffee
The first part was along side the road.We rode beside a row of trees with colouring leaves.Up ahead was a rider with a red back pack. Now that would make a great photo.Too hard to get the camera out.The Trail then went away from the road behind houses. It was lovely to see the gardens with a lot more beautiful roses.
did they do this on purpose?
Stopped in Bright at the Beechworth Bakery [of course] for coffee.
parked for coffee
When we got to Wandiligong we couldn’t find the heritage town.We asked a local who gave us directions to go via the Diggings path and Chinese bridge. We think we took the first path instead of the second and it felt like we were on a mountain bike track.Geoff broke a spoke and Hilary’s brakes are squealing!

We found the town [but not the pub which was closed being Monday] and went back on the Trail.28kms.The bike shop to have things looked at in Myrtleford was closed. The streets in Myrtleford have neatly trimmed street plantings which include rosemary. So, when we wanted to make rosemary potatoes, there was plenty growing outside the front door.
